PROJECT SUMMARY

The objective of this project is the enhancement of the international cooperation capacity between European and Chilean universities through the mobility at master, doctoral and postdoctoral level and through the improvement of the transparency and recognition of studies and qualifications. It will promote the establishment of joint research programmes, thus contributing to the sustainability of cooperation among partners and improving university staff skills and qualifications. It will contribute to the development of the the institutions in remote areas and to the provision of further education to vulnerable groups.

The Partnership is formed by 10 Chilean and 10 European institutions carefully selected according to their academic excellence, geographical coverage and thematic needs. Mobility of 215 (80% Chilean) students at master, doctoral and postdoctoral level in the priority areas will be carried out through this project. The consortium has designed a full strategy for the implementation of these activities: Joint on-line application, selection procedures and criteria, recognition and credit transfer. 60% of the doctoral students will carry out a PhD thesis cotutelated by one Chilean and one/two European institutions. A chronogramme has also been agreed in order to guarantee the success of the project as well as measures for the participation of target groups 2 and 3, for preventing brain-drain and for assuring gender balance and equal opportunities.
